Pat Lodewijkx
Pat Lodewijkx has a lengthy history within the insurance industry. He has been described as an excellent investigator and has shown this early on during his work history. He began his investigation career with Ford Motor Credit as a customer service representative and skip tracer. He then worked for ICBC as a claims adjuster, bodily injury adjuster, litigation adjuster, special investigations investigator, and claims manager before pursuing a career as an independent adjuster. He started his own adjusting firm in 2004 which continues to this date, and was able to continue with his educational pursuits eventually leading him to the claims risk management and Fellowship of Chartered Insurance Professionals designation.
Jane Lodewijkx
Jane came to Discovery Claims after a 16+ year successful career at ICBC, handling bodily injury claims and specializing in settlement of infant claims via the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee of B.C. Jane spent a couple years as a high school teacher in Burnaby before joining ICBC. For 16 years Jane held adjuster positions in several ICBC locations, including New Westminster, SW Marine Dr., Penticton, Surrey and Langley B.C. gaining experience in all aspects of investigation, negotiation and evaluation of complex claims. Jane is a licenced Independent Adjuster and manages the office, including all administrative support staff.
Audrey Robertson
Audrey has over 30 years of experience in the Insurance industry with focus on Litigation, Disability and Rehabilitation. Audrey has supported, implemented, and overseen the introduction of change management as a Manager of Litigation Unit, Recovery Services Manager and Rehabilitation Manager. Audrey has experience as an adjuster, benefits/rehabilitation coordinator by providing case management, return to work planning, reviewing entitlement to disability benefits for individuals with regard to STD and LTD as well as vocational services. Audrey designations as a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) and Registered Rehab Professional (RRP). She is a member in good standing with the Insurance Institute and Vocational Rehabilitation Association.
Brad Johannessen
Brad’s past insurance experience involves 28 years of working in the areas of Injury, Disability, Material Damage and Property. For 13 of these years, Brad managed staff working in these areas. Presently, Brad is a licensed Level 2 Independent Adjuster handling mainly injury and disability files, that require investigations at any stage of the claim. This includes, negligence, scene investigations, employer inquiries and or witness interviews. Brad attended SFU and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.). He later earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) from Trinity Western University.
Darlene Parsons
Darlene worked for the ICBC for approximately 20 years, in several departments throughout the Lower Mainland. She has valued experience in handling losses in several roles as a claims adjuster, bodily injury adjuster, recovery co-ordinator, and litigation adjuster. Darlene joined Discovery Claims Services as a licensed independent insurance adjuster in 2017. She enjoys spending time and participating in all types of outdoor activities with her family.
Doug Smith
Doug gained an insurance foundation at Manitoba Public Insurance Corporation for 9 years before working at ICBC as a bodily injury adjuster for 6 years, then as an investigator for 5 years. He later worked as an officer in the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) for 18 years. He gained tremendous experience from investigating all levels of Auto Plan claims within corporate standards. Doug also enhanced engagement and comradery by volunteering as the ICBC events and tournament coordinator for 13 years. Doug provides us support and insight from Vancouver Island. He enjoys travelling, golf, cycling and curling in his spare time.
Steve Freeman
Steve has over 20 years of insurance industry experience in respect to automobile / injury claims and investigations. He was employed as a claims / bodily injury adjuster with ICBC for over 10 years. This was followed by 10 years as an investigator / peace officer with ICBC’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU). Steve also spent over 2 years working as a business manager at Mountainview Health and Wellness.
John Finnerty
John became a qualified mediator after graduating from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree (B.Sc.) and completing the Harvard Advanced Alternate Dispute Resolution program. He worked as an ICBC claims adjuster for over 30 years, gaining substantial knowledge of evaluating and negotiating property and injury claims. John has participated in hundreds of mediations throughout North America with ICBC Out of Province claims. John also coaches men’s Fastpitch softball in his free time.
Greg Bodin
Prior to becoming an Independent Adjuster, Greg had a successful 31 year career at ICBC. He started as a Claims Adjuster in the Out of Province Claims (OOP) office in 1989, promoting to a Bodily Injury Adjuster in 1991. Greg handled injury claims from across Canada and the USA, including simple soft tissue claims to death claims. As he garnered more experience over the years, he travelled often to attend mediations, arbitrations, trials and bulk settlement days. In his last two months at OOP Greg travelled to Philadelphia, Seattle Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Fransisco, Edmonton, Regina and Calgary. In 1999 Greg pursued a more investigative path and worked in partnership with a Special Constable to investigate questionable claims. This led to becoming an Investigator within ICBC’s Special investigation Unit (SIU) in 2002, then an SIU Special Constable in 2006. Greg initially conducted large file investigations into auto theft and organized crime matters and later transferred to various claim centers conducting claim file investigations. Greg retired from SIU in 2020. Greg has been a coach of various sports since he was 18 years old, coached his children in every sport they pursued, and coached Special Olympics basketball for 15 years. He played rugby and hockey for 20+ years and is presently an active outrigger canoe racer.
